Tanks,Silos and Boiler Fabrication
Description
Tanks, silos, and boiler fabrication is the specialized engineering and manufacturing process of cutting, shaping, and welding heavy metal plates into robust industrial containers and high-pressure thermal units.
Designed to hold liquids (water, chemicals, oil, or fuel). Their structural walls experience uniform hydrostatic pressure that increases with depth.
• Industrial Silos: Tall, vertical structures used to store dry bulk solids, powders, grains, or pellets (like cement or plastic granules). They feature specialized conical or sloped bottoms to manage solid flow and gravity discharge.
• Industrial Boilers: Closed pressure vessels designed to heat water or generate steam for power and industrial processing, requiring extreme heat and high-pressure tolerance.
The Fabrication Process
• Design & Engineering: Calculating dimensions, capacity, metal thickness, and pressure ratings based on international codes like ASME or API.
• Material Selection: Choosing appropriate metals such as stainless steel (SS304/SS316 for hygiene or corrosion resistance) or carbon/mild steel with protective coatings.
• Cutting & Forming: Utilizing CNC plasma or laser cutters and hydraulic presses to cut and bend heavy steel plates into exact shells and curves.
• Welding & Assembly: Assembling sections using advanced welding techniques (MIG, TIG, or submerged arc welding) to ensure leak-proof, high-strength joints.
• Testing & Inspection: Conducting rigorous quality checks, including non-destructive testing (NDT), radiographic tests, and hydrostatic pressure testing to verify safety.
