EOT Crane Structures
Description
• Bridge Girders: The horizontal main beams spanning the width of the building. They can be a single beam for lighter loads or two parallel beams for heavy-duty work.
• End Carriages (End Trucks): The structural units located at both ends of the bridge. They house the motorized wheels that allow the entire bridge to travel smoothly.
• Runway Beams and Rails: The fixed elevated tracks attached to the building columns or gantry structure. The bridge moves back and forth along these rails.
• Trolley (Crab): A mobile platform that carries the hoisting mechanism. It moves crosswise (left or right) across the top or bottom of the bridge girders.
• Hoisting Mechanism: The motor, gearbox, drum, wire ropes, and hook assembly responsible for lifting and lowering the load vertically.
• Operator Cabin or Pendant Control: The station from which an operator controls the crane movements, either via a suspended wired pendant, a wireless radio remote, or an attached cabin.
Working Movements
An EOT crane structure provides three-dimensional material handling through three distinct motions:
1. Long Travel: The entire bridge moves longitudinally up and down the length of the workshop along the runway rails.
2. Cross Travel: The trolley moves laterally side-to-side across the bridge span.
3. Hoisting: The hook moves up and down vertically to lift or release loads.
